Beautiful baby girl

Seeing her bounce around with these curls is so cute that I kind of physically ache just looking at her. Saying she is "so cute" doesn't even begin to describe how painfully beautiful I find her. I'm sure that sounds weird. I don't care. It's the truth.

God knew what he was doing making toddlers so freaking adorable. Haha :)

I cannot even begin to explain how well this photo embodies who she is right now....this is definitely one picture that I will cherish forever and ever.

She turns two in less than a week.

More of Six

I'm not going to lie. Simon's first several days as a 6 year old hasn't been great. He's got a mouth on him and isn't afraid to use it. He's been rather cranky and rude and going through some growing pains I guess you could say. That's kids, though. They have periods of being sweet as pie and others of being a little ugly.

I guess that's adults too.

Anyway, we had a really good morning. He listened well and started his day out right. And in another 40 minutes I will know if it continued all day at school! Let's hope.

We had his 6 year check up this week and he is growing perfectly....about the 25th percentile for height and weight which is where he's been for awhile now. They don't measure heads anymore at this age, but I'd guess it's still large :)

I got some photos of him blowing out his candles....love this kid through every kind of day.

Don't you just love how Macey is so excited and Wesley (right next to her) could not look more bored!? Hilarious! :)

SIX.

So the boy turned six today.

He spent most of his day at school, but he was excited to share his big day with his classmates I think. This morning before school Bryan went out and got him a cinnamon roll, per his request. Then after school we went bowling and then made "mummy dogs" for dinner, both also at his request. After dinner we opened gifts and BOOM it was over.

More party fun is coming, though. Two more parties in his honor will take place this weekend and I should probably start planning them. Ha.

I really need to take more pictures of this boy, but I will focus on that this weekend! This morning I whipped out my big girl camera and got a few shots right after he woke up. He is being a puppy in the second picture, in case you were wondering :)

Before I leave I want to take a second to talk about how much I LOVE this boy. Just thinking about one of his hugs makes me so happy. He is so sweet and kind and funny (when he's not whining and stomping and demanding). And he asked for a clapper for his birthday and got it and was so excited about it. I love how excited he was about a clapper. Yes, the thing that will make your lights go on when you clap. How did he even know this existed? I have no idea, but it made him happy and I find that ridiculously cute. We are so unbelievably lucky to have had him for 6 whole years already. Love, love, love him.

days

Ever have days where everything makes you feel heavy?

Clients.
Business.
People.
Dishes.
Waiting.
Weather.
Poop.
Boogers.
Etc.

You get the idea. I just needed to get this off my chest in hopes of feeling LIGHTER. I need to let some of these things go and move on with my day. Starbucks is going to help tremendously. I can feel it. Haha.

Maybe a sauna would help too.

Christmas Card Fun

So this year I decided to actually get them coordinating outfits and try really hard to get a nice picture of both of them together, you know as if they were clients. I felt a LOT of pressure to deliver since this was my first Christmas as a "photographer" but that was kind of stupid. Any picture would have done fine and if anybody wanted to judge it they could go ahead! That's the name of this game anyway, people judging what I put out there. Ha!

So I landed on this for my card....

Which started as this....

Photoshop is my friend.

Here are some of the other ones I took that day. Some edited half way. Some not edited at all. Some keepers!

So there you have it. An attempt. Ultimately I got a lot of pictures of my kids interacting and being themselves so in that way, mission accomplished :)

Christmas Tree '13

I went a little camera crazy when we cut down our tree this year. I hadn't really taken pics of my kids doing anything fun for awhile so I just snapped away.  Oh how I need to do this more!!! These pictures remind me that I need to keep my old camera sitting out and bring it along when we go places....
